3.3.2. Playback Toolbar¶
The Playback Toolbar area of the APEX DV application allows the user to to control the data file playback operations and monitor selected parameters or alarm levels. It contains three buttons with the following functions:
- Open: Displays a file browser and upon successful selection opens the data file for replay. This button is deactivated in continuous playback mode.
- Play|Pause: Is a multi-function button that enables or disables continuous reading, processing and display of data blocks from the input file. When the end of file is reached the button automatically switches to its “paused” state.
- Rewind: Reposition the file read pointer so that the next playback will start from the beginning of the file.
The slider component serves both as a playback position indicator and controller. The single arrow buttons on both sides of the slider will change the playback position by one block. The double arrow buttons will change the playback position by 1% of the file’s block range. The “down arrow” button will display a menu of the event markers recorded in the file (if any) and allow the user to select the playback position based on these. Using any of these position controls is only possible in the paused state.
The parameter display area is a mouse click configured display that allows for any parameter name and current value to be pinned. Multiple parameters can be added to the box, as many of them will be visible as the window size allows.
The limit indicator has three LED displays. These have four possible states:
- Background (typically gray) color indicates that the condition is not applicable in the current configuration. Example: no limits are loaded.
- Green color indicates that all channels are within limits.
- Yellow color indicates that some channels are close to configured limits.
- Red color indicates that some channels have exceeded their limits.
The meaning of the three LED displays is as follows:
- Top|Left LED indicates ADC channels are saturated.
- Center LED indicates overall time domain amplitudes are exceeded.
- Bottom|Right LED indicates mode limits are exceeded.
These LED displays are clickable. This causes them to display a summary dialog with the list of channels that exceed their respective limits.
Note
The parameter display area is the part of the top tool bar that expands or shrinks as the application window is resized. So the number of parameter values that can be displayed, and the display configuration (single or double row) will depend on the window size.
